About Rincon de Guayabitos
Rincon de Guayabitos, Nayarit, México, is located on one of the most paradisiacal places from the Mexican Pacific, exactly where temperature is warm and humid almost all year, where the exuberant vegetation paints with magical colors the mountains that descend like a tropical jungle and meet beautiful beaches where the sand’s gold tone play with the waves and invite you to refresh your body.
Originally a town of fishermen, the Jaltemba was founded hundreds of years ago, when the old “tecoxquines” had the belief that the island located in the center of the bay was a hill full of jal and that’s where they took their name from “Xalos-Temba”, nowadays it’s the commercial zone and its kind people are always there to offer you their best smile and attention in the world.
The environment that surrounds Rincon de Guayabitos is of the magical Mexico, the traditional, where colorful towns appear suddenly as if time stopped and never touched them, there are rocky roads that connect them and are ideal for practicing mountain biking and off-road.
More than 2,300 years ago, the reign of the “Tecoxquines” was located where today is the town of “Zacualpan”, this tribe full of mysticism has left its historic trail in a ceremony center called “Chacalan” where the actual Coras and Huicholes peregrinate from the north of the state to pay tribute to their gods and ask for good harvest and weather.
During the November to February season of every year, the hunchback whale visits our shores to reproduce and help keep their species, these mammals brings us the opportunity each season to watch them in their natural habitat. Don’t miss this exciting adventure!
